Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to provide server, storage, and virtualization support within a Microsoft on-premises and cloud environment.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with competitive salary and extended health and wellness benefits offered! The end client is in Richmond, BC with the successful candidate required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week (first 4-weeks in office for training). Quarterly travel may be required.

Must-Have Skills:
  • 7+ years’ experience administrating enterprise Windows and Azure environments
  • 7+ years’ experience with Windows Server administration, storage, and Active Directory
  • System virtualization experience with Hyper-V, Azure, Intune, Auto Pilot, and MECP
  • Bachelor’s degree, continued education, and/or higher certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Certifications with one or more of the following: Microsoft Server, Windows, Azure 

Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Office 365 and SharePoint experience
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices (Security/IAM in the cloud)
  • Experience with running and maintaining scripting (PowerShell)
  • Experience with containers and application containerization

Responsibilities Overview:
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain software, virtual servers, storage, data centres, database performance, and integrate potential for automation processes
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of an efficient and robust systems infrastructure to minimize any unnecessary unplanned system downtime
  • Ensure database backups are maintained as per procedures, and disaster recovery plans and regular testing occurs for risk mitigation and management
  • Schedules and coordinates system maintenance activities
  • Monitor systems and platform performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed and ensures logs are kept up to date and documented thoroughly
  • Works with business and IT groups to develop and implement best practice policies, standards and guidelines on systems, network, security, risk, and compliance
  • Define and communicate policies and standards for acquiring, implementing, and operating new infrastructure and systems, equipment, software, and other technologies
