Software Development Manager required to help this Vancouver Software Development firm deliver on exciting projects for their various customers. In this role you will be managing one to three teams of various sizes. Directly managing no more than a dozen developers. Responsible and accountable for career development and customer expectation management for relationships related to their projects. Engaging in customer-facing project discussions on a daily basis, remaining visible and accessible to the customer and actively monitoring their satisfaction level. Building strong relationships with the customer in order to fully understand the customer's perspective and innovate new ways to add value to the customer’s end product. Writing concise, clear, precise, and well-organized documents, including weekly status reports that are informative, easy to understand, and to the point. Using clear and timely communication to keep both your team and your customers well informed at all times, ensuring that customers are fully aligned on what you are delivering to them.

Must Haves:

• B. Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to travel to the US.
• 5+ years experience managing or leading teams of 10+ developers working on a diverse set of projects.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, C#, and/or Python.

Nice to Haves

• Experience providing technical leadership, in the form of design, coding, reviews, and test methodology.
• Proven record of successful on-time delivery of projects with a high degree of predictability and quality.
• Ability to foster relationships in order to expand opportunities with the clients.
• Experience in SQL, databases and database connectivity.
• Experience with Big Data and/or NoSQL experience.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP a plus.
• Experience with remote client stakeholders and development teams a plus.
• Experience with JIRA, TFS or equivalent project tracking and planning tools.
