Our valued public sector client is looking for a Sr. Data Architect to implement an enterprise data strategy in support of a digital transformation program.
The successful Enterprise Data Architect should have excellent knowledge of IT systems and how they operate in a business setting. They should be comfortable playing a leadership role working in close cooperation with senior management and encouraging employees to embrace changes within the agency. They must exercise a combination of technical and social skills, anticipating and proactively resolving issues.

The successful Enterprise Data Architect should have excellent knowledge of IT systems and how they operate in a business setting. They should be comfortable playing a leadership role working in close cooperation with senior management and encouraging employees to embrace changes within the agency. They must exercise a combination of technical and social skills, anticipating and proactively resolving issues.
Tasks include:
- Ensure that technical goals are in sync with the business needs of the organization and work closely with network engineers and other IT professionals to define enterprise-scoped design solutions surounding data strategy
- Provide team leadership to define enterprise data architecture that will support both new applications and integrated COTS solutions, replacing legacy applications, and minimizing risk of disruption to operations
- Lead combined teams of business users and developers to design and build data synchronization between legacy and new of operational systems, and feed to analytics assets such as an enterprise warehouse or data lake.
- Perform ETL scritping as the agency moves from legacy to cloud solutions
- Staying on top of the latest developments in IT and business practices, lead the transition toward agile and DevOps
- Identify data needs of the enterprise, opportunities for improvement, and how to effectively apply modern tools and technology in support of the business
- Model business processes (including improvements), business capabilities, data architecture and flows, and API
- Support IT security to identify and address security threats.
- Analyze the scope and expected organizational impact of information system changes
- Advise the PM on project design, costs, and expected benefits
- Prior experience supporting both technical and business teams in developing/implementing a data strategy
- Hold a Reliability clearance with the Federal Government
- At least one project working for the Federal Government
- Prior ETL experience
- Experience working in Microsoft environment is preferred
- Prior experience with Talend
- Hold (or able to obtain) a Secret clearance with the Federal Government
