  • There will be significant changes to the financial and management reporting systems and processes across the organization with the adoption of the IFRS 17 standard. There is a skilled team working on preparing for the implementation with a series of work streams. The incumbent in this role will have the opportunity to work across the businesses to leverage their technical, leadership, and project management skills as the needs of the project evolve.The successful incumbent will be comfortable with a flexible work environment, adapting to changing priorities and working on multiple projects at different stages, with different stakeholders.
  • Assignments may be to one or multiple projects at any time, with project work assigned to meet prioritized project milestones and/or to address gaps and opportunities across different businesses. This may include backfilling’ Canada’s business resources in their current financial reporting roles
  • Supporting key IFRS 4 and 17 reporting requirements, development of new internal controls, and ad hoc requests

Must haves:‚Äč
  • Minimum 6+ years experience in an accounting or finance related role with experience in financial reporting and investment accounting
  • Professional accountant (CPA) 
  • Expertise in IFRS, life insurance accounting, and financial control knowledge
Nice to haves:
  • Industry experience would be an asset
