Sr. Functional Lead of  Foreign Depositories Integration Stream supporting future build of a Net New Wealth Platform for large banking client - 55015

Location: Downtown Toronto (hybrid - 2x/week)
Duration: 6 months (possibility of extension of up to 18 months)
 
Job Description:
Responsible for working under an AGILE framework within a Clearance and Settlement POD as a Functional Lead (similar to Product Owner) for foreign Depo/Custodian Integration stream. In this role the candidate will represent the bank's Business in a partnership with wealth platform Solution Consultants, leading all work required and delivered on by the bank's SME's and Business Analyst assigned to you. A focus to delivery timely results in support of Systems, party vendors, Functional requirements for future build on a Net new Wealth platform. This will also include leading activities with our 3rd party Service providers for clearance and settlement in the UK/EUROPE, APAC regions related to relationship management, account set up, technical connections for systems routing, testing plans, conversion and migration task leading up to Implementation and partnership with the Wealth and Capital Markets Lines of business, and partnership with other project leads within the entire program.
 
Must Have Skills:
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a senior role with similar experience and responsibilities (Functional Lead, Product Owner, Business Analyst within Wealth)
  • Subject Matter Expertise in Foreign Depositories Integration
  • Strong background and experience in Wealth Management Back/Front office process (at a self-clearing institution such as RBC DS, GMP Securities, CIBC World Markets, etc focused on clearance and settlement, Assets under management requirements and Segregation of assets regulations)
  • Good understanding of the regulations and required reporting requirements surrounding the above products/processes (IIROC, OSC, CDIC etc.)
  • Good knowledge and understanding of securities (such as bonds and equities processing)
  • Knowledge of financial book of record systems (such as ISM, Dataphile, Broadridge ADP)
  • Knowledge of the responsibilities, time sensitivities, services provided, technical requirements a Custody and Settlement agent provides a broker dealer such as the bank in the foreign markets
  • Knowledge of the account structures required within the service provider to safeguard client assets held in custody on behalf of the broker dealer such as the bank in the foreign markets
  • General knowledge of the different regulatory bodies, tax regimes world-wide and impact to Canadian Brokers in the overseas space
  • Ability to review user stories and identify gaps; ability to direct a team to produce the artifacts required to build new systems (e.g. current and future state processes, user stories, use cases, etc)
 
Nice to Have Skills:
  • CSC or CFA qualification
  • Product Owner or other Agile training and/or certifications
  • Education in Finance, Economics or Commerce specializing in Finance or Wealth
