Manager looking for candidate play a hybrid PM/BA role on the team. I think an ideal candidate would be someone who is perhaps a less seasoned PM but with significant BA experience under their belt and is comfortable being a PM on specific workstreams/sub-projects within the program. Willing to be hands on is very key.



Project name/scope:
As Project Manager/Business Analyst, you will lead requirement gathering activities and assist the Project Delivery Lead in activities that will include:
  • Formulate recommendations regarding delivery/implementation approach after consultation with key stakeholder groups on estimated effort, resource availability, cross-program dependencies, and other implementation constraints
  • Lead the planning and execution of specific project/workstreams within a larger program
  • Prepare weekly status update dashboards
  • Create project artifacts ensuring adherence to approved enterprise change governance and standards (e.g. requirements documents, privacy impact assessments, data impact assessments, RACI, target operating model documents, test strategy, requirement strategy etc.)
  • Facilitate detailed requirement gathering, consolidation, analysis and coordinating business sign-off
  • Write user stories in JIRA
  • Consolidate relevant project information in Confluence
  • Document business and trade workflows using Microsoft Visio
  • Create or contribute to project plans (MS Project, Gantt charts etc.)
  • Lead and support testing activities
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues and cross-stakeholder group interdependencies
  • Demonstrate sound ability to identify and solve problems
  • Foster connections with cross functional team members – communicating and raising issues appropriately
  • Give timely updates on project status, analysis and findings to senior management and stakeholders




Job Description
  • The Institutional Equities (IE) delivery team within DDI is responsible for establishing and expanding on business growth capabilities for the IE business in support of various regulatory, industry and business-driven initiatives. To deliver on this mandate, the team partners closely with stakeholder groups including Front Office, Technology, Operations, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Change Management, Third Party Management and Finance.
  • As Business Analyst, you will lead requirement gathering activities and assist the Project Manager and Project Delivery Lead in activities that may include:
  • Lead specific workstreams and/or deliverables within workstreams
  • Prepare weekly status update dashboards
  • Create project artifacts ensuring adherence to approved enterprise change governance and standards
  • Facilitate detailed requirement gathering, consolidation, analysis and coordinating business sign-off
  • Write user stories in JIRA
  • Consolidate relevant project information in Confluenc
  • Document business and trade workflows using Microsoft Visio
  • Promote optimal testing strategies and support testing activities
  • Proactively identify and manage cross-stakeholder group interdependencies
  • Demonstrate sound ability to identify and solve problems

Job Requirements / Qualifications / Skills / Experiences
  • Outstanding record of project delivery success, in Capital Markets, in a large complex organization
  • In-depth knowledge of the IE business, with proven business analysis and delivery experience (10+ years)
  • In-depth familiarity of IE concepts including cash equity trading, options trading, convertible bond trading, principal and agency trading, smart order routing (SOR), FIX connectivity, electronic trading, direct market access (DMA), alternative trading systems (ATS), and prime brokerage
  • Knowledge of equities and options trading systems such as Fidessa, Bloomberg, Bloomberg TOMS, Kynex, Trade Web, WEX, etc.
  • Good understanding of the tools, solutions and technology infrastructure used in IE
  • High-level of organizational awareness and demonstrated ability to effectively lead/manage business analysis with a wide breadth of cross-stakeholder impacts
  • Superior organizational skills – Must be able to identify and track dependencies & issues, ensure proper resolution of outstanding items, document meeting minutes and takeaways in a clear and concise manner
  • Prior experience working with Microsoft Visio to complex trade flow diagrams
  • Proven expertise leveraging tools such as JIRA and Confluence and using Agile approaches to improve collaboration\
  • Prior experience working with technology stakeholders including third-party suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to senior and executive audiences
  • Advanced Excel experience including the ability to derive findings/conclusions from large datasets
  • \Ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks and handle time effectively
  • Superior inter-personal skills including conflict resolution, influencing and negotiation
  • Flexibility to adapt to unfamiliar, ambiguous, or changing conditions
  • Ability to make business decisions based upon sound judgement





Must haves
  • 8+ Years of BA experience in capital markets and front office trading applications 
  • 5+Years experience as a Business Analyst
  • Advanced process and data flow mapping experience using Visio or similar tools
  • Electronic and equity trading experience
  • JIRA and Confluence experience
  • Advanced excel – large data sets
  • Delivery experience background

Nice to haves
  • CFA or FRM designation an asset
  • Microsoft Project experience
