Sr. Power BI developer to provide advice and hands-on support in setting up a new Power BI practice

Our valued public sector client is looking for a Sr. Power BI developer to provide advice and hands-on support in setting up a new Power BI practice.

This directorate is responsible for data analytics and BI solutions.  They have recently added Power BI to their offerings and require advice as well as hands-on development to set up this practice.

Tasks include:

• Develop an understanding of how data is currently reported using other tools and support a move to automated reporting where appropriat
• Carry out analysis to understand departmental and client needs in connection with the most appropriate use of  Power BI services (cloud, on premises, 365) to meet client needs
• Provide guidance and advice to the BI & Data Analytics team on best practices for implementing Power Bi
• Building on recommendations, carry out hands-on implementation of Power BI to various clients, installing software according to needs
• Provide ongoing management/support, and generate Power BI reports that are repeatable, meaningful, interactive, and visually appealing
• Provide advice/guidance in support of the future implementation of Power BI in Azure Cloud environment

Must have:

• Reliability 
• Recent experience in both Power BI development and administration

Nice to have:

• Some experience or understanding of IBM Cognos, as it also exists in the team's environment
