Duration: Until end of May 2024 (possibility for extension)

Location: Remote

 

Notes: Some travel between Toronto and Waterloo offices might be required for this role.

 

The Chief Technology Office Value Realization Office (CTO VRO) is looking for an individual who is able to perform and lead teams as a Scrum Master/Senior Project Manager. The individual helps build high-performing teams by providing support with product delivery, utilizing a deep understanding of agile principles and team dynamics. In addition, they have a solid understanding of the more traditional approach to project management, understanding the SDLC and how to manage the lifecycle of more traditional projects.

 

Must Have Skills:

 

  • 5+ years of experience as a scrum master and/or project manager
  • 5+ of experience with implementing medium to large range of technology/business projects
  • core infrastructure (data centre, cloud computing [AWS, Azure], mainframes, distributed server environments, web-hosting services, desktop, network, telephony, unified communication, security, etc)
  • Agile certification: Scrum Master, Kanban, SAFe
  • Certified Project Management professional designation (PMP)
  • Experience using the agile tools including JIRA and Confluence

 

Nice To Have Skills:

  • Insurance/Finance exp
  • Delivery or software development background a plus

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Scrum processes and support Product Owner on release planning and backlog management
  • Ensure alignment of teams with Agile practices while influencing and coaching them towards high performance
  • Bring transparency to Business, IT, and Operations about the team’s progress and Agile processes
  • Manage all phases of large or several medium, high risk IT infrastructure projects Manage stakeholder relationships to ensure project delivery expectations are specified and successfully met
  • Define and manage project risks and issues ensuring appropriate strategies and plans are in place to mitigate or handle effectively
  • Actively drive and present product plans and reviews, demos, and competitive analyses with the team, partners and executive leadership.
  • Work with larger program teams in building external communication and action plans using JIRA, Confluence, and other tools
