Sr Solutions Architect to lead SharePoint and Power Platform Automation initiatives (implementation, configuration) for our Automotive client.

 

Location: Scarborough, Ontario (Hybrid, 1-2 days per week)

 


  • The selected candidate will, in partnership with other Architects, define and maintain solution architecture blueprint focused on efficiency and automation.
  • This role will lead initiatives in the SharePoint and Power Platform, automation, emerging technologies, promote development initiatives to introduce new tools and new technology to application landscape.

 

Must haves:


  • 5+ years of technical hands-on expertise on SharePoint Online, Power Platform implementation, configuration, support, and architectural design
  • 5+ years IT experience in application design and architecture, including solid hands-on experience in conceptualization, modelling, and design.
  • 3+ years of technical expertise in system integration, middleware, API, ITIL, SaaS, COTS
  • Hands-on experience in designing and supporting forms and workflow automation
  • Broad understanding of IT practices and technologies, including PMLC, SDLC, infrastructure and application design, development tools, support, project and process management

 

 Nice to haves:


  • Experience with any of the following is considered an asset: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents, Power Pages, ShareGate, Nintext Flow, UiPath, DevOps, Cloud Computing
  • Certifications in SharePoint, Collaboration, Power Platform
  • Experience in environment running multiple platforms

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Leadership


  • Lead the creation and evolution of the application architecture function, selection and adoption of frameworks and methodologies, and facilitate the creation of governing principles to guide solution design decisions
  • Collaborate with local and regional Information Services teams to deliver enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with evolving business needs
  • Act as liaison with technology partners and vendors on Application Architecture issues, recommend and provide input to technology strategy, architecture, standards and patterns

 

 Software Lifecycle and Process Improvements


  • Ensure projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from architecture stablished guidelines
  • Guide application design and provide technical leadership to ensure alignment to business objectives and application lifecycle

 

 Technical Excellence


  • Lead the design, implementation and customization of Power Platform-based and SharePoint-based solutions for Collaboration, Content Management, Workflows and Enterprise Search. Also lead technical initiatives related to migration and support of SharePoint Online
  • In partnership with Enterprise Architecture, contribute to the definition of enterprise automation strategies and roadmaps
  • In partnership with regional associates, lead the design, development, deployment and sustainment of automation solutions – including RPA – across the enterprise
  • Review existing and emerging technologies and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise’s strategy and architecture; develop strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and business functions
  • Ensure technical integrity and consistency of the solution on every stage of its lifecycle
  • Foster dissemination and maturity of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and DevOps best practices
  • Analyse current business and IT solutions & environments to detect deficiencies, recommend improvements and kaizen (continuous improvement) IT processes

 

Best Practices, Collaboration and Sharing


  • Compile business needs, process information and technical requirements to produce an optimal, high level, analysis and conceptual design for projects and new solutions
  • Steer and guide the creation and maintenance of the software design (application architecture) strategy and direction
  • Work with third party vendors to develop and/or integrate their applications into TCI’s solutions; ensure that applications are in accordance with company product standards and guidelines
  • Provide education, coaching, and guidelines to IT practice on the use of enterprise architecture tools, technology, and standards
  • Provide guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact and costs vs. benefits analysis.
  • Champion the proper use of tools, processes and standards by conducting education, application review and design sessions to reinforce skills and knowledge baseline
  • Influence and communicate effectively with non-technical audiences
