Sr. Systems Engineer to support Hybrid Cloud products for large fin tech client - JR101853

Location: REMOTE (anywhere in Canada)
 
Job Description:
The Sr. Systems Engineer responsible for design, implementation and management of Hybrid Cloud products and services, including end-to-end infrastructure automation by leveraging Hyper Converged Infrastructure (VMWare, Nutanix HCI), Microsoft Azure and Terraform automation.
 
The individual will collaborate closely with Infrastructure Architecture and Operations, Security, Development, and Business units’ teams throughout Hybrid Cloud GitOps Platform journey to execute on large-scale projects, operationalize technologies, establishing technology road maps, and help set standards & processes.
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Developing, designing and building continuous integration and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform Enterprise) solution and strategy for a multi-site/region on-prem and public Cloud
• Working with other leads, engineers and architects to design, solution, scope technology at an enterprise level, including budgetary planning/proposals
• Technical ownership/leadership of enterprise Hybrid Cloud product(s)/platform(s) including the design, software, governance, standards and processes necessary for ongoing operation (Nutanix HCI, VSphere, Azure/AWS, etc.)
• Contributes to vendor management, capacity and budget planning
• Facilitate the creation of Infrastructure Service offerings by automating and documenting the service/s

Must Have Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a senior technical or engineering position
• Expertise implementing Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code solutions in GitOps automations (GitLab, ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible)
• Extensive experience designing, implementing and managing complex VMWare, Nutanix HCI and Microsoft Azure environments
• Proficient in coding/scripting using Python/Go/Ruby/Shell/PowerShell languages
• Leading initiatives across cross-functional teams using Agile methodology, including SCRUM and KANBAN

Nice to Have Skills:

• Proficiency in payment systems and the merchant acquiring business is an asset
• Fintech experience is an asset
